I've got a 89' MX5 .. so I'm not quite sure if the seats are a bit different - maybe someone else can confirm that?

Anyway, I bought 2 pairs (4 total) JVC 2-way 150w speakers for about $50 a pair. Unzipped each head rest, and had to cut out a section of foam on either side.

Each speaker literally just sits in there now, with being held at the back magnetised onto the steel brace up the back of the seat.
Oh .. and also, when you unzip, and fold down the headrest material, there will be a plastic-y mould that can be slipped out. I tried to keep it there, but the headrest wouldn't zip back up with the speakers that sit a little proud compared to normal. But even without the plastic mould there, it still looks fine.

Works a charm :)

I hope you dont mind the imprint pf 2 JVC speakers in the back of your head if you ever get hit from behind.

The 3\" round sheilded \"woofers\" from Jaycar fit with a bit of foam trimming and let you keep the plastic thingo in there to stop them being pushed into your skull if you have a crash.

You can also get the 2*3\" rectangle speakers like Mazda used from US Ebay occassionally which would be an even better fit though may not sound as good.

Well I'm really tall, so my head barely even touches the front of headrest when I lean it backwards so I don't care :P :P
