Just wondering how intrusive headlight protectors look on an NB8B?
Anyone ever has those stick on plasticky thingy ones?

Do they work on the foggies? Just paid $400 (thankfully pre tax dollars) to have one of those replaced!

When I first got my SP it was straight down to supercheap for a sheet of the headlight protector plastic to fit to the fog lights. The headlights are polycarbonate, so not too concerned about them but the foglights are glass and are incredibly expensive to replace (as you have just found out).

theres a pic of mine with headlight protectors on it...
undecided as to wether to leave them on or not...

sort of takes away from the cool projector beam styling...

WoW thats like looking in a mirror - well if I was in the car!

Anyways I have the exact same setup and I too have been looking at the covers wondering if I leave them on or not. I love the nice shiny appearance of bare headlights but know that the replacment cost will be something I despise if one gets broken!

EDIT - and I just noticed the Penfolds number plate surround, just like mine! our cars are twins clearly...

The polycarbonate (Lexan) material the headlights are made of is the same stuff as police riot shields and motorcycle visors - your choice really.

Thanks Casey, didn't know they sold it in sheets. Will get some this week to prevent a recurrence of my recent pocket lightening experience.

They sell universal kits of two sheets as well as pre-cut model specific kits. Just get a universal set for small headlights - should be enough for 3 pairs of foglights.

I have the Mazda clip on ones and my car and they seem to fit and work well though they are a pain to dry behind after I wash the car. I'm up to my second set. The first set were looking pitted and daggy from road debris. The headlights underneath look brand new so the covers do what they are designed to do. I have the stick on film on my fog lights which has held up fine for 3 1/2 years. Though I hardly ever use the fog lights because I dont drive in fog much.

I have the stick on film on my motorbike headlights and it worked great for several years until I started riding to work. Now I have 2 big burnt brown spots right in front of the bulbs. My theory is that riding at walking pace in Sydney traffic doesn't cool the lights down enough which let them burn the film.

I have the stick on and heat to fit ones, the headlight units could be a little stronger than the fog lights, but they aren't cheap to replace.

I know they've saved me once already when a bit of metal trim fell of the car ahead of me, smashed into the headlight protector and bounced over my head.
