Prestige Auto Trim

Has anybody gone through prestigeautotrim?
They have softtops for about $500. I called the mx5factory, they quoted me $1400 fitted. Thats just ridiculous i could get a hardtop for that sort of money! They also said prestigeautotrim delt with crappy soft tops, but it seemed to me they were just trying to talk me into buying one of their products.

yeh i bought one through one of their sellers on ebay (they also have an aust bank account so transferring money to them from oz is easy, get a discount this way too).

though for $500 it's probably the plastic windowed version. i got the glass version but nearly got the red mohair top instead.

no complaints here, it works (though havn't hooked up any electrics for the demister), looks good, fits well, good materials used, cheaper then the ones available here (including post from UK, glass didn't break either :) ). Paid an auto trimmer $450 to install it.

prestige have good instructions on their site for those that want to DIY.

I can throughly recommend Spiros at Olympus in Fitzroy to fit a top @$330.
94891860. He has done a coule of mates window replacements and teay have been excellent. To do that you need to remove the top so he obviously knows what to do.

$1400 is rubbish in this day and age unless it is cloth and glass windowed

Prestige mohair, no zip for $995 sounds good to me. My AABEST cloth top is pretty good but not as good as some others I have seen but even paying duty and GST still didn't cost me$1400 fitted..

Thanks guys,
Im trying to keep as close to $500 as possible. Does anyone know anybody in melbourne who sells good quality soft tops cheap? Im seriously considering buying on from Prestige as long as i know its $500 well spent.

Personally, I'd prefer a top with a zip down rear window.
My Clubman had it and I really miss it now.

When the SP needs a new roof, I'm going ot buy one with a zip down glass rear window.
Nothing better in 40 degree heat that having the roof up and all the windows down. The open rear window gives you a great breeze blowing through the car and you don't have the sun beaming down and burning your bonce.

You can get them that have a glass window that allows you to zip out AND alternatively fold without unzipping; the best of both worlds!!!

I have one of the Prestige tops with zip out plastic window. The only thing i dont like about it is the quality of the plastic window, it doesnt seem to like our warmer climate, marks real easy when hot, in fact it had marks on it from the packaging when it was delivered from the UK, but I guess you get what you pay for eh. For memory I think I only paid $400 delivered.

I just had one delivered. It is a black canvas one with a glass rear window. I will be installing it myself... will let you know how it goes :P

What I say at this stage is that the canvas roof material is of good quality - much nicer than the usual vinyl.

I also recently ordered one of those from the US :) Being installed in late May. Can't wait!
