Looks good, but I think Blue would look better IMHO.
(you'll have to spray your mudflaps anyway, may as well do the roof too???)

My hardtop is red and it looks great!
I do like the black!

I think it needs to be blue. Black is close enough to blue to make it look unfinished. Black on red/white looks good but just doesn't seem right on blue.
Um, how come the BD bar didn't fit, I thought they are supposed to??

Blues the go Woo

Yeah Woo, if you do decide to paint the roof, I love the oportunity to chuck my spare mudflaps in....great idea
Seriously though, you are the one who has to be happy with the colour. I'd leave it black for a while 'cause you might really like it. No need to rush in Woo

There is an NA in North Rocks painted in a custom maroon metalic with full body kit and black hard top that looks fantastic, but I have to agree that blue would look better in this case. How much movement would you need for the bar to fit, as I'm guessing there is room to be had if you remove the carpet and do a little panelbeating on the parcel shelf? Carpet could be refitted over the bar if desired. Might need a little plastic trimming around the seat belt mount too.

I like the way that you think outside the square Daz

But I really like the blue.
My thoughts are about the same as the poll (I cant believe someone actually would suggest painting it red

) so 70:30 for the blue.
It won't happen overnight but it will happen.
The BD is about 8 mm to high. If I were to put spacers under the back plates then the whole bar would move forward at the top and probably clear. Alternately, as bigdog suggests, I could remove another spacer from the seatbelt tower and do some mean plastic trimming to achieve a similar action.
Still undecided on the best course of action on the bar ..... call it work in progress
Thanks for the feedback

Have a look at Ian Morris' 10AE with the silver hardtop down your way, that looks really good!

I'd be contacting BD Direct and ask them for a solution or another roll bar!
This is the second car I heard of where the hard top doesn't fit.....

One little problem with that Sab, Woo bought the roll bar off me.

Why don't these bars fit under the roof? I admit it's tight but mine has always fitted under the hardtop. Sounds like the bars are not fitted correctly rather than blaming the bar or brown davis.
