headlight mods for NA

Postby rain902 » Wed Mar 22, 2006 8:26 pm

okay - found these firmly bolted to a friends fiat turbo coupe the other day - quick look suggests that they may fit the na. anyone heard or seen a bolt in kit for these, or do I have to mod and fit em myself?

btw this is his race car and he did say that they were going to be removed soon (hopefully sold to me)

thoughts or alternatives gentlemen? (and ladies)

Can't wait to see it! There's an impossibly long thread on the big forum about fixed lights but nothing seems to be happening there.

Theres a Flush headlight kit on US Ebay that look similar. Search 'flush headlights' on the big forums to find the big thread.

Looks like the eBay seller no longer sells them. But here is a link to a past auction.

I just caught up with the thread on the big forums. They have contructed the first mould for the sleek headlights and it looks fantastic in carbon fibre!

On th same note, AAC over in the states have finally completed their flush headlight unit.

Although the Stock pop up lights look ugly I still think the car looks better with low profile (BSB) ect lights, those flush sitting lights make the car look too much like a bubble at the front. :|

The BIG problem with the flush headlights is that they have very poor close up illumination of the road due to being so far recessed back in the openeing.
Doing a search on the big forum turned up lots of bad reviews of them.
Search \"euro\" or \"eurocrap\" on the big forum.

i did find this quote from the big forum thread re flush kits "It has been argued rather definitively that the Moss low-pro light output is far better than stock -- a point unanimously agreed on by those owning them -- and better than even the Cibie and E-Code barn door upgrades."

also:

Just for the record it's not the low profile or the flush kits that make bad light output. It's the lights used in a kit. A Hella 90mm in a low profile kit or in a properly designed flush kit is superior to a stock headlight. Just as a Code-e or high output 7" is supiorer to a stcok headlight.

short range lighting? im not so scared, i am not a huge fan of the pop ups bouncing at speed on rural roads, and neither are the truck drivers coming toward me with their kilowatt plus light bars that seem to think that im high beaming them
