im after those clear front indicator/parker casing things for the NA. I want some that are clear and dont have the orange all through them...
anyone know where i could get some from?

you can pull the ones you have apart...

I did it to mine with a flat blade screwdriver and a hairdryer. The orange bit inside is just held in with 2 screws, You should try it, very easy to do will take you an hour or so. I also swaped my indicator with my parking lights, so now the indicator is on the outside where the parkers where.

I've been told that on later model cars you can just swap them over but im sure on mine i have to cut the wires and swap them over. I already did some slicing of the wires for my halo head lights.

no worries guys, i just cut the live wires and swaped them around. The ground wires you dont have to worry about... Just be very carefull when removing the clear plastic cover on the lights. Dont pull on it too hard otherwise they will snap/crack, take your time and use the hairdryer to loosen the glue up.

I also purchased some narva orange bulbs as pictured, for the indicators.
You can get them a pair at autobarn, or somewhere similar for about $3.



The bigger bulb that was used for the indicators is fine to use as a driving light..

*please not* your indicator will blink at a faster rate, after doing this modification. Because there is less current being used to run the blinkers, (because the of the smaller bulbs) the opertaion of them will speed up.. to about the same speed as when one of your globes are blown... but its well worth it..

I've heard this happens with some other mods involving the indicators (eg LED conversion) too. Won't wiring a small resistor in line solve this?

Just be REALLY careful prying open the covers. They crack very easily.

If you want to get around the speeding up of the indicator try my method. Swap the bulbs around but spray the indicator bulb with clear lacquer and while still wet roll in powdered orange glass (available from hobby shops - they use it for copper enamelling). Keeps the same blinker rate and orange is much brighter than the "clear' bulbs you can buy. Only trouble is you have to reshape the insert hole slightly to fit the bulb.

Even easier and less cost and mess, go to the newspaper shop and buy a permanent orange coloured texta pen and colour the clear bulb in.

Works just fine. I can't detect any difference when the bulbs flash, doing this as compared to buying the pre-painted orange bulbs.

man the orange bulbs are $3 a pair...how cheap do you want...
