OBX Pedals - Help with Installation

A while back I bought some OBX pedals from Mania. I finally got around to fitting them on the weekend. I am wondering though if anyone else has fitted them, what did you do?
With the brake and clutch pedal, the only way I could get them to stay in place was to leave the OEM rubber pieces on and put the OBX pedals on top of these. If I took the OEM rubber pieces off, no matter how tight I did the screws up on the clamps, the pedals would not stay in place. Is there a trick to this? Doesn't seem right that the rubber oem pieces have to stay on, I thought that they would have to be removed or am I incorrect in this train of thought?
The throttle pedal fitted OK with metal on metal but I just couldn't get the brake or clutch pedals to do the same.
Any help here from anyone who has these OBX pedals installed would be welcome.
