My SE Headlight needs help!

OK, I've fitted HID's and they're great. Also fitted the "quality" 6000k LED parkers that came with 'em as a free gift and suppsoed to be valued @ $25 USD.

Problem is the parkers couldn't hold it together and the glue that holds the bulbs lens to the base has softened and has dripped onto the lens of the f*#kin' headlight! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR  !

Having a bit of a nosy around this morning, it would appear that the clear lens cover of the lights is screwed to the headlight and not clipped and glued like most cars I've seen.

Hoping someone has had the need to play with their lights before and can shed some light (hehehe) on this for me.

Please tell me they're screwed onto the light and not glued!

More importantly, how did you find the HIDS???

And how much were they?

Got 'em off ebay for $330 delivered. Snipered the other bidders with 15 seconds to go! There are sets on there on a regular basis. Max you should pay would be $400 delivered.

Sounds kinda expensive for bloody lights but they are a bloody great investment and the results are stunning!

My ol' man now has 'em on his SP23, my lil bro on his Toyota Celsior, my boss on his F6 Typhoon and I fitted a set to our 2005 Suzi Swift a couple of weeks ago!

The HID's are plug n play, took about 25 mins (3 hrs of trial fitting the ballasts in different places before making the final decision).

How long have you had them fitted to these other cars?

I've heard that the cheaper HID kits don't last very long, twelve months at most?

thanks

MX-5 - 07/05, 10000km/year and headlights always on

Swift - late 10/05, 30000km/year and headlights always on

No dramas on either of my cars so far. The other cars I mentioned haven't had problems. Theirs have only been fitted < 3 mths.

Now, has anyone had to pull an NB headlight apart :?: Srewed or glued.....someones gotta know!

Thanks for that!

It's pretty close, only small difference is that I have the later version headlights. The link gives me a guide for the worst case scenario(still hoping the lenses will come off after some screws are removed but I'm starting to doubt it!)
