If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

My latest Mod.
Recently I was lending bench pres to a friend. So took it apart & delivered it. So along came nice corner on the way & of course I couldn't just take it slow. The end result.

used the hamet & steel Butt to get the dents prety clos to flat again![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

but when I stared preping it with primer , paints & putty. The chemical reactions stared.![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
That means the paints used previously don't mix with what I'm using & eventually they will peel off eventually
so looks like is al got to come off for the final paint job.
ohh well This is how it is right now.
you can sort of see, at the edges where its lifting under the paint. So yes I could cover it with paint. But its got to come of again. I have no idea what chemicals & paint the previous owner used.

looks like old bog on the panel Stefan - you would want to grind that off first to see what's behind it. You may need to beat some previous damage out too! Looks like you've done well with the hammer and dolly though. Be careful not to go too far and stretch the metal - if you do you'll need to heat it up and shrink it with wet rags, and the gas torch will remove the rest of the paint for you....

Love the fact that the damaged was caused by something rolling around in the boot

Too right. I couldn't stand it anymore. So the last 2 days I sanded it right back to metal. Occasionally checking so see if it still reacted. I just wiped it with the grease remover until it didn't react anymore.

about 1/3 of the panel was back to bare metal. I should have taken pics.
It was then treated with a coat of etching primer. Then with some spray putty to get rid of the imperfections. Then sealed with some more primer. & finally 3 coats of red. Sanded back between coats . Here is the end result. Its backing in todays afternoon sun

quite happy with the result. There is no runs it just needs to be cut back at the edge of the paint.to make the transition less obvious. pretty happy with the paint it neeed no work to make it good. Its nice& smooth. but it will come off again with the real paint job. So its only temporary. I couldn't stand more patches
