ma64rk,

How easy was the Wind Blocker relocation? Does it still work OK?
You seem to have retrofitted it well.

Malibu also has one fitted.

Remember it's only going into plastic. Just sitting it there and either drilling two holes or using self tappers would be the way to go. If you use the soft top cover and need the clip things, just get some needle nose plyers and put a small nut on the other side of the drilled hole. 8)

Here is the official Racingbeat windblock relocation instructions. Totally different from my suggestion  It say's to leave the existing mounts and drill into the windblocker brackets. It'd be easier than my meathod.

Jules;
The racingbeat windblocker relocation does work, you drill new holes into the windblocker and use the existing holes and fasteners in the bodywork; but I did something a little more complicated but better IMHO at the end. I didn't want to drill extra holes, I wanted to file the existing holes a little using a bastard file (real name; no kidding = round file) and keep wblocker as close to its original position as possible so it doesn't interfere with anything. Now, with a style bar fitted, the pocket thingy on the front of the windblocker doesn't work anyway, so I removed the mesh and the 2 end bits, which meant it fit neatly. Then I trimmed and replaced the end clips to cover the exposed nuts and ran a strip of black cloth tape along the bottom to cover the holes from the mesh net. The end result was a functional windblocker sitting flush against the style bar.
I could post a few pic's if you would like.
Lotsa luck.

Only power tool needed would be something (like a Dremel) to cut the seatbelt tower plastic covers neatly.

Here is the list of nuts/bolts etc. I bought for my install:
qty 2, M10 x 25 h/t bolt
qty 2, M10 Nyloc nut
qty 6, flat washer to suit M10 bolt
qty 2, Spring lock washer to suit M10 bolt
qty 2, M10 Deep nut (about 15mm long)

You also need to go here and download the Racing Beat PDF installion instructions.

It will probably take you 2-3 hours to do - or half that time if you have a previously experienced person there.

Where did you get all the nuts and bolts from ? And as you are experienced, would you like to perform surgery on my car ? I'll provide, food, entertainment and Jules to supervise :)

LOL

Cheers

Wayne

p.s. how good are those bars gonna look on the cars ?

Bolts and industrial Supplies , Salisbury. There is bound to be a similar nut/bolt supply place down the coast.

I'm a bit busy for the next coupla weekends I'm afraid.

It's easy enough to do following the instructions (except paragraph 10 - see below) but time consuming.

Make sure you put a dab of silicone on the spacer to "glue" it in position or it'll rattle.

Be careful taking off the seat belt tower cover as it has three moulded plastic prongs that fit into holes in the side of the towers - one upper and two lower. It comes off fairly easy so don't force it.

RB Instructions, Paragraph 10 - Follow the procedure for 1990-93 for all NAs and disregard Figure 5: The bling spacer was too short as I recall for the harness bolt. I used the longest of the three OEM "top hat" spacers and its washer - you'll know what I mean when you take out the harness bolt. I'm going to get a longer harness bolt one day and then the bling spacer can be used as well to get the harness pivot up a bit higher. We used the bling spacer for the style bar (captive) bolt in Richee's case because his car (1990?) didn't have the cockpit brace bar and thus no captive nut to use as a spacer for that bar bolt.

Cutting the tower plastic. Measure 10 times and undercut as previously explained.

Feel free to give me a call if you get stuck.

It should fit but you'll have to drop the roof if you've got it on.

They should fit in the boot. Put them in the driver's side first and then into the passenger side of the bot at an angle. That's how I transported mine. 8)

Not if it was packed like mine was - it wouldn't have fitted into the Astina without dropping a back seat.

Mine went in the boot when I took them off the car so there was no packing.

If they don't fint on the front seat in it's packaging, unpack them at the post office and it should go in the boot then. 8)

Mine are from drifta off ebay - so JBT you reckon they wont fit in my car at all in the box? I have to take them to Kilmore or Sunbury for fitting - not keen on unpacking them if I have to move them around a bit.

is it just me or does mr driftr32 clown not answer his emails? i asked him about the finish of the things, and if the pics were indeed of the bar concerned, no reply.

i guess if he is going to sell stuff, he should have an accurate pic - unless of course he does really own a left hand drive -5, and a blue tarp!

ive seen the tarp image on US ebay oh about a dozen times in one search - must be more ripped off than \"the scream\"
