In regards to protective coatings...

I dragged Kansei along to a Waxit Detailing night this week. They were promoting a new product called C-Quartz (http://cquartz.com/index.php?option=com ... z&catid=41).

When I've finished my future re-spray, I'll be giving this stuff a go. They reported they were surprised how good it was. Even reporting that it can protect against hail damage. Apparently they had some cars coated with C-Quartz parked next to some that weren't at a promotional event. After hail hit, the cars that were coated with C-Quartz were dent free, whereas the others weren't.

I'm dubious about this (I think there might be other factors at play that would need to be considered and I'd like to see this replicated in different circumstances / with different cars for proof) however it possibly could help with stone chips.

One of the demo cars had C-Quartz on it, and washing was a made a lot easier and quicker though.

They said that one 250ml bottle will be more than enough to do one car (you use it extremely sparingly) and that bottle costs around $70.00.
