We ordered ours Friday too. I wonder if we'll have them by Wednesday.

*rubs hands together keenly*

If the gear arrives this week, then mx5parts have my business in future. Unfortunately they don't stock oil pumps. :( That'll take some shopping around to find at a decent price, if possible.

Yep, I've still got to source a genuine thermostat and gasket, radiator hoses and some plugs.

Hey Sabre, would you be using a gasket with the genuine water pump? I know Mazda thinks you only need sealant, but I don't want to be getting in there again any time soon after the operation?

Hey Jules,

IT'S HERE! :o How FAST is that???

I totally forgot about the gaskets when I changed from the aftermarket to the genuine Mazda water pump. I'll be using gaskets bought locally - and I'l lbe covering those gaskets in permatex. As for radiator hoses, this post might give you some food for thought. I haven't put the hoses on yet but I'm sure they'll fit.

Mostly. The bottom hose is just a 90 degree bend. On the 1.6 (my post was talking about a 1.8) the Commodore hose will be more suitable for the top hose. I'll have to update my post.

What do you reckon will arrive first - the parts from the UK or the other stuff you had ordered? :)

Why do you guys think I raved about MX5 UK previously. Service, timing, price all A1.

Jules - WRT water pump gasket, the aftermarket one I bought from REPCO came with a rubber gasket included - the instruction project manual we worked from recommends using a smear of silicone gasket former on both sides - one to stick the gasket in place as the water pump is fitted, and two to create a bonded seal. It certainly worked in my case.

I reckon they look great! I'm quite happy with how they turned out. The photo probably doesn't show things too well as I had a halogen worklight going, and I was in the garage. I'll have to get a proper pic in daylight.
