Thread is here, and you narrowly avoided being blown up by seeking refuge in the dog house at the last minute.
Many a life was lost and a many ardent campaigners have not been seen since.

Twas indeed a war, but not of Roses.
Went for a drive and there were slow cars everywhere, why are NC's so common . . . must be NC = Normally Cardiganed.

Mmmmm... I think the bike is worth more than the car.

To my surprise the car made it all the way to fitzroy falls & back.

The bike & its engine had entered Round 2 of the NSW XCO Championship Series.

Glad to hear this topic is still appropriate.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Last year patchy almost died a slow death. After getting cooked & refused to start at a MTB race she was slowly transported back to my driveway.
So there she sat for some time. She even had her top slashed.
I didn't even get her re-registered at Christmas . She had been dumped there getting ignored. For over 4 months. Someone also smashed into the front guard . It got difficult to open the door .

A week before she had to go over the pits( blue slip) she was re registered.

2 days later the neighbour backed into the drivers door.

I was due to go overseas for a little while so Patchy got parked off street at my parents place.

After returning from OS eventually a door & front panell were purchased.

There they sat for a while. I'd lost total enthusiasm for anything car related. So patchy was sitting there again..

She was then. Sold. As is. The buyer was just waiting to get some money together.
While this was happening Patchy got flooded. Ecu got trashed
So I took iout the ECU & dried it out . Opened it up cleaned some of the crap out.
& she started. Except she died a few k's down the road .i left her there overnight .
Decided to let the ECU dry out a little more.

So returned the next night to drive her home to find the fire extuigusher missing. Dented bonnet & smashed windscreen.

Far out that really upset me.

So the sale of patchy didn't go through.

A new ECU was sourced. A few more days of the carpet drying out & the footwell dry as well. ECU got plugged in & she ran real sweet....

New windscreen was also installed.

so then it was time to start painting the Door & front panel. The door got stripped back to bare metal because some of the original colour had peeled off.

Its been a long Road for Patchy. Just a little recap.
She has suffered from my extreeme disinterest since about the middle of 2009.

she was almost Dead at one stage 2012. I thought the engine had actually died overheating & i was going to scrap her.
She overheated down in Campletown. couln't start her. It took me 6 hrs over 2 days to get her home.
she is a former shadow of herself from her glory days of 2004- 2007. I used to love driving her.

her glory days were in the mid naughties. in 2004 I was so paranoid of breaking her short nose crank I changed the engine to a long nose 1991 along with a new clutch which had done 190K's
The engine came out of a racing car. LMAO.
The original owner & I thought the engine would last me about 2 or 3 years as it had done about 30k racing km in Nick & matildas 1600 race car in the NSW Production Sports.
Well 100K Km & 10 years the engine is fine. still going strong.

recenbtly sh'e been slowly repainted into her rightfull colour. Classic Red. Not sure what posessed me to paint her with yellow spay putty & paint clear coat over the top. Results was Ok oringinally but not a long term solution.
she started getting the meesels spost under the clear coat. & the clear coat eventually came off.

I will psot up pics as I find them. Currenntly she's got a new 2nd had set of thrtlte body which has sorted out some cold start & idle issues.

The repaint is a job in process.

She's never been a car that has limitless amount of $$$ thrown at her. She's just always had the bare basics to be able to make her go hard. Thats all that mattered.

She's hasn't been dríven in anger for a long time. Although I can't see that changing any time soon. I no longer have that imature need.

I would love to get another bling bar for her as well as cams. On the Standard ECU. thats all she needs for me to be happy with her. That isn't happening any time soon either. But it will.

Patchy has never been one of those head turning cars. There has always been something that could be improved( like a decen'tpaint job) But finaced have never been there.

Current workings are.
Mirrors
Beaver panel
Timing belt.
Oil spark plug Change.

I'll try to find some pics in the next few days. If anyone has any. feel free to post them from her Glory days. I've lost most of them.
