NB8B Boot unable to be opened - Help appreciated

Postby Jaxom_2 » Wed Sep 16, 2009 10:59 pm

The TOP SECRET Info was indeed correct, I am in!!!!!, the contents of the boot are out, the connecting rod has been reconnected and it's been unbelievably fiddly to get everything setup and working again.
It is done, THANK YOU Dave and all other posters.
I had consulted my service manual - useless - no detail - need a workshop manual.
I contacted my local Mazda Dealership - again useless - had no idea what to do
I contacted Mazda Australia - useless - a secret squirrel organisation - cannot release details that could cause damage by untrained individuals see your dealer (see above)
Did endless searches of the internet and only came up with the American post about drilling through the bodywork, a different approach than that applied, but useful none-the-less (shown for an NA).
I contacted a website Answers for you - they recommended contacting a locksmith - a dealer - a body shop (crash repairers in Oz)
In the end it was one of the resourceful people (Okibi) here in MX5CARTALK who ultimately saved the day.
WOOOOHOOOO :) :) :) :) :)

I'm glad you're in, I couldnt find the instructions I used the previous time (that worked) and was nervous i'd measured wrongly ... if you can recommend any slight tweeks to where someone must drill then let me know via PM and i'll update that graphic I showed you.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
