My other point I feel you all failed to address is that a BD bar made from 44.5mm x 2.6mm CDS is going to be significantly stronger than any style bar when it is attached to the seat belt towers(strucural point) and with the cross piece to resist lateral side loads as well as downwards force. Obviously it will have very very little effect on a rear impact and all but none on a forward impact, but that is for a rollcage. A BD makes no claims of being any more than a roll bar, a purpose for which it is significantly qualified.

BTW I have never seen an alloy BD(except for on mania) but many steel ones.
