either way you go it would be best not to think about this idea if humidity is about in your locality . so in saying so you will have to pick the best month to do it. otherwise you could get a good job to look at and just a few months later humidity blistering comes through and the job is a write-off
so before you part with 5 to $10k - get the above timing right first thing. there would be lots of sprayer's will do it better for cash but afterwards you may not have anything to fall back on warranty wise if a problem rises.
one paint shop actually told the daughter why would I want to spend $10K to paint mine and its not even a collectable. plus my car had absolutely no body damage either so it was a straight full body in/out re-spray.
you could also save $$$ say 1000 or more if they don't touch the engine bay. if they do - its a motor pull out to do it right. you could probably do the engine bay yourself with a pressure can - worst part is the brake lines and i'd say the NA would have less crap inside the bay compared to an NB
whatever you decide to do as long as your happy  ............but remember long term your chances of returning any of your hard earn't money spent on the re-spray ...will be NIL to NONE! when it comes to selling cars all the buyer's wants is more! more! and more! and in return pays less! and less!
if I was in your position i'd chase up some backyard sprayer who does a good job and take the risk with him and save some cash but you might think stuff it. it's my car and I will do what I want
that's only what I would think and probably just spend the cash on the re-spray regardless!

If you want to spend the money go for it after all its your car and I hope it turns out the way you want it.

I decided to take a look at that car myself and prior to leaving the owners place -it was heavily pulled down like a parts car. there would be a big difference in the price in the painting from a pulled down unit towed in to a stock standard drive in and do the job

interesting reading just the same. i'd say I am pretty close to the target figure but overall I think its almost impossible to beat my $1200 full re spray

started out from here on page 75 of my build thread  once you get the body work straight...anyone can paint a car and save yourself big $$$ too

if I can paint it anyone can. its not hard just mainly prep work. I bet if I could see better it would be even better job

Also Gladiator is doing a full strip/paint of his car http://www.aus-cartalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=908233#p908233.

I'm not being negative, rather realistic. I had an EUNOS 800M resprayed by Grand Prix Mazda and was very happy with the job, not cheap though.
