Trying to buy parts from the US

I am in the process of using Shipporter at the moment. The process is that you sign up and they give you a US postal address, which you would then use with the US merchant.

Unfortunately GWR and Advanti are both out of the wheels I ordered. Ordered a couple of weeks ago, MIGHT get them by christmas. The wait is gonna kill me.

How does the process work and what are the on approx costs for such a service e.g. it adds X% .

I took a look at the website. It seems that the US address is to the Shipporter premises who pack containers. Since the container has mixed consignees then items must at destination be unpacked and individually sent to customers and this is a much slower process than just delivering an fcl. You have process time before the container is packed then shipping transit time then unpack and deliver. Provided the seller will deliver to the shipper it's pretty straightforward but if it's not close, inland freight can be expensive. The seller should confirm selling price including the inland freight cost. The shipper looks like handling paper work , freight processing and delivery. It would be interesting to see how it well it works and to see what the sea freight costs. A bit of patience may yield some Google savings.
Just noticed the cost. App 25% and my guess that an air service would be at least 100%
