Here's my seat:

$350USD and the quality is pretty good considering the price, an the fact that they are all leather, back sides and everything.

the pictures actually look worse than real life, seem to highlight every crease.
You can see there is a few creases in spots, I tried getting them out, pulling, pushing, adjusting, but the fit just isn't perfect.
The leather is reasonably thick and should hopefully wear well, stitching and seams seem well done too.
my car isn't ever going to be a show queen so I not too fussed, but the flip side is had I spent another $200, I would probably have got a much better fitting cover.
Quotes were $1500-$2000 to have them done professionally.

Thanks mate.
It doesn't look too bad. I imagine the NB8A seats would be easier to fit than Na. Those seats look like they were a struggle

They do actually look a bit better in the flesh.
They weren't a struggle , just that in some areas they are a bit loose actually, you can pull and shuffle bits around as much as you want, but they are what they are.
ie, on the base, the flap at the back of the top section (the bit you actually sit on) was just a bit long, which is why there are creases down the side, the middle part is too loose and just needs to be pulled back more. The headrest is also a bit loose fitting. There are other issues too, all minor.
But I like leather, I'm a cheapskate and it's never going to be a show car :D

Covers have arrived. Took two weeks. Looks like this guy gets them made in China and shipped direct to customer. Will report back on the quality once I open all the covers out. Only had time for a quick peek before heading to work.

Super keen to install!

First seat (passenger) fitted!
Not too bad. The fit is a little loose in places but overall looks great

you are right its not a good fit i.e. it looks like a cover not a properly manufactured / fitted trim.

They may fit better in time with a bit of use and some heat.

When I had leather seats fitted recently the work shop used an iron with loads of steam on the leather to help shape the leather and reduce creases in the leather to improve the fit on the seat.
They said it can be done a couple of times on new leather.

Apparently heat helps shrink leather, supposedly trimmers use things like hot steam and/or heat guns to help.

I'd steer clear of a heatgun, it would be far too easy to melt bits.

Personally, I'd just park the car in the sun on a hot day with the Windows up.
See if that shrinks it a bit and pulls the wrinkles out.

Much safer than heat guns or a steamer in the hands of someone who's not done it before.

I agree, mine look very average in photos, but in the flesh, I'm happy with them.
Yes, they could fit better, but meh
Cheaper than a pro and much better than the roasted covers I took off.
I'd rather sit on them than look at them

I had leather seats done in Sydney on my work van for $1100 for the 2 front seats including the arm rests on either side of the seat(4). so would imagine MX5 seats would be a little less than that. That could be 2 tone, different piping and contrast stitching.
