It is very refreshing to see the 'mindless optimism' that sustains some people, really gives a perspective on how the world works.

Is it just me, or is this whole scenario just really scary, and/or very hard to understand?
If this is the same friend who junked the gearbox and then apparently semi-repaired it, what are the possible errors in this much bigger job?
Where is the car when you are standing underneath it and how is it supported?
