This is what I use http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/p21s/complete_detailing_kit

Wash (with a snow lance), clay, paint cleanser and then wax. I taught my son and other half how to clay last time I did it (3 people claying a car is real quick).

Washing you car with dish soap before a detail is fine, just don't do it between details/waxing as it will strip any wax you have on the paint surface.

Nice job on the polishing work, black is a pain to work on as it shows every little imperfection. If your using a random orbital might I recommend you try some Menzerna polishes next time. Unlike Megs Ultimate the Menzerna polishes contain no fillers, so during a paint correction they won't fill/hide paint defects like Ultimate Compound and other cheap polishes will.

It might looks great now but those fillers will break down to reveal swirls and paint imperfections that were missed during correction.

Have used Menzerna polishes in the past, but unfortunately they weren't mine and was a one off on the last car (silver) - and am looking at getting back into them, as I recall the results being every bit as stunning as you posted in your link.

Based on that memory (thanks for the reminder!), I've placed an order for the sampler pack.

If my NA looked as good as that 350Z, I couldn't drive it! That's just an amazing finish!!! So impressed

However ...

I'll stick to my different color red on each panel, scratched, star patterned, cracked paint finish NA and save the worry every time I park it somewhere

Great tips everyone! Never really looked into a clay bar but I will be getting one soon.
