Re: DIY door trims
I've seen DIY threads on doing a suede steering wheel wrap.
If you're interested once you've gotten over this big job!
All in one post. This person said it took 5hrs all up.
Best tip was using tape to wrap your existing wheel, then use that tape as the template. There are other DIY threads out there but I figure this one's great.

I've love to do the wheel, knob & pads (like yours).
Will you get a much better result from stripping and repadding, rather than just glueing/stretching the material over the padding?
Thanks for sharing the DIY!

Re: DIY door trims
Nice one.
Might have to copy this sometime .
Did you do the centre console carpet yourself?
Goes well in a minimalist kind of way.

Re: DIY door trims
Yeah I did that as well needs to be re-done though, thanks
Re: DIY door trims
Awesome work!
You've now given me the incentive to do something similar. I have just deleted my stereo so would like to delete the speaker hole on my NA8 doorcard. I want that minimalist look whilst not destroying the OEM look as well.
Does anyone know where I can vinyl from? I'm thinking of Clark Rubber but they might be expensive. I'm quite pedantic when it comes to this sort of thing. For me the colour has to be similar and the grain on the vinyl has to be similar to OEM. Or maybe I'm being too fussy...

Re: DIY door trims
Spotlight would be a great place to start looking. My GF always goes there for supplies when she is making crafty stuff. They have all the fabrics/vinyls you could ask for...
Leopard print door trims anyone?

This should be all you need for the carpet, just chose your fabric and stitch some velcro around the edge too stick it down, good luck!

Re: DIY door trims
Nice to see that you incorporated the ghetto GT3 door pull.
orangemx5, I was looking at the Clubroadster carpet console thread again.
http://www.clubroadster.net/vb_forum/sh ... p?p=999138
It just needs a bit of tweaking of the underside, so it's something on my list, too.
Nice classic tweak to complement the door trims.

Re: DIY door trims

Talk to Pamex (see her Garage Thread) and compare your handiwork with her recent Yahoo Japan 'steal' of a Nakamae carpet.
I bet you could, between you, make a coupe more for others here and recoup your costs or improve your console handiwork!
