At the back I jack in the middle of the rear crossbrace, which is slightly in front of the diff.
For the fronts I jack just inside of the rear of the lower suspension wishbone

I managed to detatch the relevant part of the scissor jack and put it on my hydraulic jack.
so i can use my hydraulic jack on the lip designed for the scissor jack withotu bending the rail

That might not be a bad idea if I can get a hold of a spare scissor jack and disassemble it. Although I wonder about the stability of the jacks when doing such a manouevre unless they're welded together or some such.
