I removed the driver's side wing mirror (non-electric) from my partner's NA on Saturday in order to tighten the bolt that holds the mirror in a desired spot.
I removed and then cleaned the glue from the channel of the black mirror surround and put it in "a safe place"...now after many searching episodes have come to the conclusion that it has left the building.
I am after a replacement for this mirror surround...it is the black plastic ribbon-like piece that looks a bit like a shoe lace that holds the mirror into its housing. The original one is the same shape as the mirror.
I have searched 'pinchweld', 'u-channel'. Just can't come up with the correct terminology to do a successful search.
If this material is not available as an aftermarket part, I will no doubt need to find a whole replacement mirror.
Does anyone have a lead on where I can obtain this trim?
