I'm having problems with the fuel cap not opening. I've tried looking up a previous topic on the matter but can't seem to find. Can anyone shed some light on this problem?
Cheers!

Re: Fuel Cap Problem
As in you pull on the lever and the nothing happens or you pull on the lever and the plunger moves but the lid doesn't open?
If it's the first check that the cable is attached to the lever in the console and the plunger behind the boot lining. Also check that the cable is adjusted correctly.
If it's the second then check that the opening spring is still attached.
I'm not sure how the stock lid works but my SP has a chrome lid and the spring sometimes gets gummed up so doesn't push the lid up.

Re: Fuel Cap Problem
Thanks Garry. The problem is the second and it seems to be something with the little black rubber groments.
I too have a chrome cap.
Cheers!

Re: Fuel Cap Problem
There was a revision of the grommets on the early caps. They redesigned them so they didn't stick. I'd still be having a look at the release spring. It's up near the hinge. I had to clean and lube mine a few months ago because it was sticking again.

Re: Fuel Cap Problem
Had the same problem. Just backed off the release spring slightly so that it didn't engage on the black knob so far. Hope this helps.
