Source of water on passenger side bulkhead carpet?
A towel left there a few days ago was soaked today and you can see where water has been coming down the carpet. What's the source?

If it makes you feel better, seems to be a common fault in Boxters as well

Yup, feel better now.
Any simple instructions for a simpleton to mend it simply?

It's a small hose that runs from the a/c box under the dash to the side of the trans tunnel. It has probably come out and is draining onto the floor rather than outside.
Stick your head in the footwell, you can't miss it

If the pipe is still in place then it is probably blocked up with leaves and debris.

Here's a shot of the case and you can see the hose in the bottom corner tucking into the trans tunnel. The end of it can weld its self shut too. Pull it off and run a bit of wire through it to open it back up. Take your time getting any crud out of the case with wire as you could puncture the evaporator if you are not careful.

Had a similar issue, except in my case it was completely adrift. Took about a week to dry. Since reattached, dry as a bone.

Re: Source of water on passenger side bulkhead carpet?
Thanks for the instructions. The pipe was off the case, not helped, I think, by the Haltech installer not having refitted the OEM bash plate.
This will now force me to pull the old smelly carpets out to replace them with the better ones I have plus extra sound and heatproofi g (the trans tunnel gets properly hot). Also get a couple of helicoils in the seat runner mounts.
Any downside to putting a clip on that pipe on the case end? Is the trans tunnel end ok just stayinh there loosely?

Throwing a clamp on wont hurt at all.
As for the other end what would you secure it to? So long as the pipe is securely fitted to the case it will work just fine!
