WTF is this boot???

Have any of you boys or girls seen this boot before or have any idea why it's made the way it is. It came on the spare car I bought a while Back. It's growing on me but I'm just very curios as to what why and who built it.

I know the owner of the company that has his sticker on the back :P

He has helped me a lot with kart racing and now onto the big cars again.

It is a moulded pocket for a promotional advertising SIGN/BOX.
The same as found on the back of a TAXI.

I dont know if this helps or not..... Its the same boot lid as found on the "Garage Hundred One" Shop racecar In japan....

The spec list unfortunately dose not list the boot lid :(

as for its design I'm assuming to aid aerodynamic efficiency & I'd probably bet it's made out of composite materials and might be lighter than stock.

Thanks a heap it looks pretty much the same as mine. The lid is so light. With The standard boot springs it just about knocks anyone out who is near the boot when it opens lol.
