Panel Beaters - Melbourne SE

Postby mmxx55 » Mon Sep 08, 2014 9:42 am

Hi all,

Looking for a panel beater to fix up some insurance work for the MX5.

Dick from MX5 Factory is probably the most recommended. He is also a club sponsor but only works Mon-Fri (8-6).
DT Panels in Springvale is another recommendation I have been given.

Do people here with the above two recommendations? Are there any others that do just as good a job?
I would go straight to dick, but seeing as I have a broken ankle it means my partner needs to do the travelling and Ringwood is a bit of a stretch.

Most panel beaters only work weekdays.
Some insurance coys deliver their cars from their own warehouse?
Wait until the ankle heals?

... I have been to DT Panels to get a quote to spray and fit on a bodykit, but they seem a little pricey. There is a place (in Clayton) that was recommended to me by the guys at Allmaz, but I'll post up their details once I get back from work later this evening.

Given that insurance is covering it, I won't be out of pocket but do post up those details.

Fortunately, given that the damage is superficial bumper damage I can probably wait.
DT Panels are open on Saturdays so I'll see what other recommendations there are before actioning.
It's more the case of also having to drive the car there to be assessed as well, so the closer the trip the easier. I'm based around the Clayton area.

Cheers for the replies so far.

there are stacks of panel shops in every part of Melbourne and SE is a very wide area. Just make an arrangement to drop the car off and pick up within an agreed time frame. A bumper is a bumper. If its local convenience you knock on some doors and get a few quotes or just go to Dick Richey. I cannot see how working on Sat makes any difference- it does not mean that the job is done the same day. Panel shops often schedule the work to suit what goes into a booth etc.

Greg.
When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?
