What/where to find double-sided tape to attach boot spoiler?

If you do things on cars there is a right way and a wrong way and people seem to forget that a car is engineered- the processes, techniques ,etc are quite different from carpentry and home renovations. Glues and double sided tape have specific applications but they are generally not used where strength is an issue and auto engineers often do not use high strength glues because traditional fasteners are effective , cheaper and easier to assemble. You can use d/sided tape for badges as they are die cut and very easy to assemble without the need for drilling holes and using such things as push on fixes. There is minimal weight in a plastic badge or an e tag etc.

My advice is put the 2 other studs back and have the spoiler fitted properly which will entail drilling holes or sell it. Also panels are not cheap on cars eg the boot and painting a boot is going to be a cost of probably upwards of $300. I can recall an earlier thread about this same subject. The MX5 factory can do the job.

Yea, I've called Dick and will get him to fix it on for me on the original boot lid the right way. Definitely a cheaper option and I will have some peace of mind that it wouldn't be flying off during my spirited drives. Now gotta find a time to drop the car off. Thanks!

Let me know how you went with this. My SE no longer has an SE boot spoiler but does have the SE bootlid with the holes in it. The replacement spoiler that's gong on will not be fixed by bolts and doesn't need hole in the boot. As it happens, I think the spoiler you have came off my car?
