Rattle below wind deflector (NC)

Postby cemilbrowne » Sun Dec 15, 2013 2:51 pm

Hi all,

It seems to be my day for asking questions - I've got a really annoying rattle in my 2006 NC. It's in the trim panel between the seats, right below the wind deflector and above the small compartment.

Best photo I could find is below (not my car). It's the panel that has the headrest speaker grilles.

Anyone seen this before? I'm 90% sure it's coming from there - pushing on the panel stops the rattle. Any advice or guides that anyone has seen on removing it? I'm thinking of just taking it apart and seeing if I can foam everything?

Thanks,
Cemil

Search on the forum here for NC rattles. It is probably the centre compartment latch or a trim clip. You'll have to pull out the rear trim panel to access it - starting with removing the sill trim. There is also some good info on miata.net.
