Are driver/passenger seats cross-compatible?

Postby Giselle » Wed Nov 13, 2013 12:27 am

My car has the tan leather interior which, like most tan leather interiors, has a fairly cracked driver's seat

It's far easier to find passenger seats in good condition, so I'm wondering whether a NA passenger seat can be put in the driver's seat?

Your reclining lever would be on the inside and hard to reach between the seat and centre console, also the passenger and driver rails aren't identical iirc...

So they might swap easily, but not be comfortable?

I noticed when I had my seats out the other day, that they are not symetrical down the back, i.e: If you draw an imaginary line down the center of the back, the two halves are not the same. I'll put a pic up to show you.

This is the drivers seat. Notice there's sort of a scallop taken out of the RHS. Image
