sparco sprint V - adr approval?

Postby SteveS1 » Thu Mar 12, 2009 6:48 pm

Hi All

Slight hiccup in getting a Qld Mod Plate for my seats/harness/roll cage - I need an ADR certificate for the Sparco Sprint V seat. Unfortunately I believe this seat model has not been ADR'ed. I have an ADR certificate for Sparco Rev Pro2000, PrF1, Racing, Driver, Starter, Sprint, Road & America, but not Sprint V.

So does anyone have the appropriate certificate they could send me, or tell me where to go to get one?

If not, I may have to remove the Sprint V and replace with a Sprint (old version).

Cheers
Steve

Never heard of a certificate needed. It was purchased locally? I thought Revolution Racing were the importers of Sparco gear - ask them if it's been ADR'd.

sparco sprint V - adr approval?

Rev'n Racegear are looking for paperwork. GP Cars have provided a certificate for the older Sprint seat.

Overall it appears that the Sprint is ADR'd but the Sprint V is not ADR'd. The Sprint V is being sold as ADR approved on the basis that the older Sprint sear was ADR approved.

I'll find out if this is acceptable to the mod plate people next week (personally I hope it is, but with an engineering hat on I would probably say no because the Sprint V would probably have a slightly different frame to account for the extra harness hole and different mounting points).

Aaaaah technicalities.

On a brighter note, the full roll cage (with removable intrusion bars) and harnesses (without original seat belts) look to be OK (basically same setup as Paul TCR's car).

FWIW the sprint ADR paperwork was accepted, so should be right for mod plate now.

Hmm I still receive emails from this website (sold my mx5 some time ago). I also still have the ADR paperwork if you want it. Perhaps send me your email address and I'll email you the PDF.

Cheers

You should be able to get it from where you bought the seat too (if they are in Australia).

Hey brother,

Any chance I can hit you up on this offer?

My email is nathanwishart@hotmail.com

Also, may I ask how you came across the documentation? I'm having ALL sorts of troubles with them!
Just by luck I haven't been pulled over yet haha

Cheers,
Nate
