Installed the rear trim panels, striker plates and frankenstein bolts. I noticed the deck plate sits below the body panels. Will the hardtop mounting plate scratch the paint when being fitted and how to adjust it all?
Thanks

Re: Fitting a Hardtop
There should be a rubber gasket underneath the decking plates, maybe you need to check this first. There should also be rubber feet on the chrome part of the hardtop that fits over the frankenstein hooks. Which model MX do you have. I have spare rubber feet if you need them, email me if you need these.

Re: Fitting a Hardtop
What exactly is the "deck plate" ?
I'm guessing it's the rectangular chrome plate with the 2 botls, just at teh front edge of the boot lid?
Anyway, as said, there's supposed to be a rubber thing that goes on teh underside of teh chrome hardtop latches. In practice though they've pretty much all fallen off. (I've never seen a hardtop that still has them)
In saying that though, if you're careful when putting the top on you should be able to avoid scratches, my top doesn't have the rubbers, and I've not scratched my paint at all. My top comes on/off roughly every 2-3 months.

Re: Fitting a Hardtop
It's a NB 1999 10th Anniv. I'll check the deck plates. I plan on buying the hardtop new so hopefully
all will be supplied with it. I take it then the hardtop doesn't sit on the body but on the plastic mould?
Many thanks

Correct.
The chrome catches sit up about 5mm from the paintwork (without the rubber underneath)
