Are the seatbelts in our cars fitted with pre-tensioners?, and if so it would be prudent to establish which type they are ie; pyrotechnic or electronic before one started messing with the retraction units.
Greg.
When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?

Yes, pre-tensioners (don't know which type) and load limiters. I agree with david_syd_au that it's worth checking how the belt retracts with the shoulder belt out of the guide or with the guide removed - there is just one phillips head screw holding it on.

We had to get an NC seat belt replaced during warranty. It had to come up from Melb by road because they are pyrotechnic
