Central locking on SE

Postby davekmoore » Mon Aug 20, 2012 6:10 pm

The central locking stopped working on the driver's door on my 04 SE some time ago. It still works remotely on the passenger door. Using the key in the driver's door locks the passenger door. The local auto electrician says I need a Mazda-only part which will be silly money and is on back order forever. Will one of these fix it?

UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

Hi Dave,
Call into JayCar and talk to the blokes there.
Greg.
When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?

If it's the SE actuator that's U/S, then yes it should if the ebay one is truely universal. But I note the ebay seller ships using UPS, & UPS international is expensive, i.e. based on $25 to Canada from US, you'd be looking at about $100 US to AS. Although that's still probably cheaper than the Mazda part. Def worth enquiring with someone like Jaycar or Radio Parts.

I just had the same problem.
The acutator was u.s.
Try Lou (Boyracer) he may have another unit.
It is a bit of a pain to fit but not too bad.
I must thank Lou for the unit.
I don't think the one on fleabay will work as the internal mechanism doesn't look like you could fit that type.
Hope this helps.
