Slow Windows? - Good NA Window Guide Rollers on Ebay

Postby Drek » Fri Jan 27, 2012 10:58 am

If your electric windows are slow, apart from the switch contacts burning black(one of mine has been so hot, the contact has sunk back into the plastic mount), and the window tracks needing silicone lube, the back window guide roller is probably broken too, if it's old and original, like mine. I've just purchased some rollers, (only fitted the passenger side-driver's side still to do) from Ebay U.S., that are quality Teflon, and the kit comes with instructions and the driver bit to undo the bolt with, and silicone grease. If you look up Mazda Miata Window Guide Kits (jakesnake57- good bloke to deal with)- they are about $27 plus about the same for postage (it costs a lot for fast postage and tracking, so it would be more economical, if enough people are interested to organize a bulk buy?). Sorry if someone has already mentioned these, but I did search the forum for an hour with my slooow server before I posted this. Cheers Derek

Wow that postage is a killer ! US $43.95.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Hi - sometimes the Ebay listing postage is wrong because the auto calculator stuffs up. My postage ended up being about $26. Cheers Derek

Not trying to bring down your thread as I think the product itself is very sound, but even $26 is a bit steep for these little pieces. From memory, the cheapest flat rate USPS box that easily fit up to 4 sets of these should only be around $15USD.

If you're planning a group buy, which I reckon will get a lot of takers, ask the seller about different shipping costs and services, inclusive of tracking. FedEx can be quite cheap as well.

Yes tbro - that'sthe guy - he gave me that discount. I think he's the only one who makes/sells them. He answers questions quick, and is great to deal with. And I know what you're saying Speedy - I have bought small things from the UK for about $2 postage. The $26 was for Express (3 days) USPS tracked and the box was quite large and the Driver bit added some weight, but my door was in bits and I was surprised that the rollers can break, and I just wanted to get it back together quick, because it's my commute car. I've bought a lot of stuff from the States, and depending on the location, postage has been pricey at times, but at about $27 a door, I was happy to pay it. Cheap postage has taken up to 6 weeks at times, and I prefer to pay the extra and not wait. Cheers Derek
