Hey guys,
A long time ago I replaced my standard na6 vinyl soft top for a Robbins one piece glass window top with a demister.
After removing the roof and from from the car, I took the skin from the frame and put the Robbins roof onto the standard na6 roof frame. Keep in mind I did this maybe 6 months ago it has been working fine ever since. But after talking to a friend the other night about soft tops, should I have used an NB frame?
The reason I ask is because the na6 frame was designed for a plastic window. As such, when collapsing the frame, the plastic window zips out so it does not bend and crease. Since my soft top is a one piece glass window it does not zip out and nor can the window 'bend'. I noticed that to compensate it looks slightly smaller in height than the plastic window so it can pivot to lay flat.
Like I've stated before, I have no problems with the roof and the window lays flat without scratching etc. So to settle the debate amongst my peers and I, SHOULD I have used a different frame? Is the stanard na6 frame adequate from an engineering standpoint?
Thanks guys!

For a factory glass top, yes you need an nb frame.
ItBut sounds like the robbins top has been made for the na frame.

Re: Glass window different frame??
From what I have read an NA top will not correctly fit a NB frame and vice versa.
My guess is the robin top you purchased was designed to fit your NA frame as detailed with the glass window being smaller to allow it to fold correctly.
It fits, it works, I wouldn't worry about it!
