Soft Tops from USA
Well, with the Aussie dollar being strong against the US at the moment, thought I might grab a new soft top.
I see alot of the British Prestige tops being installed over here, does anyone have any experience with the US made ones? Stay fast fabric tops?
I have done some searching and reading on the big forum and looked around for product but always looking for options and opinions.
I have looked on Go Miata and am thinking about getting one of these http://www.gomiata.com/keeautopmxmi2.html
A fabric top for only about $30 difference landed to a Prestige CV vinyl
Cheers

Re: Soft Tops from USA
I bought and installed a Robbins soft top with glass window early in the year. Sourced from the same site as the one that you refer to.
Great quality top, and easy enough to install if you take your time and do a fair bit of research on installation methods first. The instructions that came with it weren't great, but there are some good guides on the big forum.
The only down side of the top that I bought was that it never sat perfectly flat, due to the reinforcing straps (needed if you are installing a glass roof on an NA) fouling the BD bar ever so slightly.
Cheers

I would like glass, but i dont think it would fit between the back stays of the roll bar. The roll bar also makes it almost impossible to use the zipper on the window so I figure a one piece would work best for me.
Sent Kee Auto tops and email last night, got a reply saying they believe their miata top would NOT fit my roadster...go figure

I would also go the Robbins route http://www.robbinsautotopco.com/mazda.php
I would also suggest to add a few pennies and get a cloth top too, they look soooooooooo much better
Most of the current rollbars should allow for the glass, ask the maker (of the rollbar).

Went for a drive and there were slow cars everywhere, why are NC's so common . . . must be NC = Normally Cardiganed.

Does the distributor Nolan UDA sell to public here? I've been reading around and comparing between between the cloth and vinyl one and leaning towards vinyl

I am new to the forum, but i have done a lot of research into soft tops, the cloth tops will stain and mark, if you get a pelican bombing you, or gum tree sap then kiss that good looking cloth top good bye. You need to be undercover 90% of the time to keep it looking the way it looked the first day you put it on.
1990 NA eunos roadster for me, 2007 NC roadster for the misses, missed out on the NB?

I ordered a stayfast cloth one from Go-miata, its on the way. The car is for sale, so getting to enjoy the top is going to be short lived and its always under cover unless driving.

Re: Soft Tops from USA
Having bought a vinyl top with glass window for my NA6A and a cloth top with glass for my NA8A I would always go for the cloth, looks better , quieter, never had any cleaning drama's, however should not have bought one with the tan lining as it marks when you put the roof down, always have a black lining whatever colour you have on the outside.Having had a couple of brands, Cabrioworld and Ezy I would go with Robins like Juffa had on his last yellow NA,it looked sensational.

I spoke with them here in Melbourne when I was buying a Robbins top early this year.
They do sell to the public and they also install.
From memory it was a few hundred for them to install, and it still worked out cheaper for me to import the top from the states.
They have warehouses in all capital cities, and their contact details are on there website.

yeah, I emailed them, but still no response. I highly doubt that I'll get them to install anyway.

I didn't bother with the email, just gave them a ring.... they were quite expensive from memory.

Yeap, I got the email back. They sell the hoods directly, but don't cover warranty unless you go through a trimmer. Then you'll get a 3 year warranty. The price range is from $950 to $2800 (+ GST). That's insane.
