Good lord that isa fantastic looking bit of kit. That is pretty much what I would spec if I was building from scratch.

SCOOP 007.jpg

One of the things that has slowed me down is all my photos had to many pixels [ dam pixles ] now I know how to reduce them .
This shot is the money shot , I had issues for 12 months with it over heating at the track when i supercharged it , and it was off the gague within 5 laps [ no issues on the street even in the mountians , just track days]
After much consideration I had a fabricator make me this and no more overheating , and no loss of hp
[ the link ecu cuts the revs when it sees heat ]
Fairly radical surgery but !
Fact is that it use to overheat in standard trim at track days if left the front number plate on , even though it had big radiator ect.
problem solved

I kept the 1.6 got sick of all may mates slagging them off and fitting 1800 " big blocks" to their cars . I beleive the 1600 is a sweeter motor [ could be just me]
Its done 220000 k never had the head off and i wait every race day for it to go bang, they all said dont fit the supercharger it will kill it , 2 years and i'm still waiting and now I wont rebuild it, I am intrigued to how long it will last.
The supercharger and the gilmer drive make the most wonderfull noise from 4000to 8400 rpm [ think AA fuller] and I am happy with the 155 Hp at the rears in very mild tune and it pulls like a 16 year old with a playboy mag.
All I have to do now is learn to drive it better at track days the extra hp and the mx5 turbo brake package have made it a totally different car to drive and for now the car has far more talent than me .

Love your car mate.

If I ever get sick of racing 2F, I'll definitely be looking at going down a similar as you have with your car, hence my desire to keep it road registered at this stage.

You need to start a thread in the Garage Chat section with all the details.

This is the one with twin exhaust tips exiting in the middle right?
If so, yes, I've seen this car in the flesh and the colour combo, amongst many other things, is damn fine!

Is that third picture in your first post photoshopped? Because something doesn't look quite right... Other then that looks awesome. Was this car completely stock looking earlier this year? I remember driving to uni one morning (in Brisbane) while being followed by a an orange NA. If that was you, VERY good work on the transformation .

I spotted a similar colour NA heading up Beenleigh Road a few days ago..... Nice looking car and would not have noticed it if it hd not been for the colour. I must admit it would not be my first choice if I was getting a respray, but having seen it was quite impressed.

Hazi
sorry for the time taken to reply , been flat out [ work and Lakeside last weekend] good eyes though , it did get a little trip to the photo shop , mainly to get rid of the Hyundai that was in the back ground [ not a good look ] and a fiddle with the car [ abslolute minimum ] just pulled the wheel a litte further off the deck . Photo to be christmas present fro the car to me , poster size for my bed room, so when i wake up a quick look at the missus , a rub on the head for the dog and I can stare at the photo before getting up out of bed. tried to post the orignal but again to many pixles , will try again when i have time

But here is a picture of the car in a previous life before it went orange [ same spot on the track ]

One more photo for my wall , do I love my toy , yes indeed. It even has its own bank account and just saved up for a new oil cooler [ rack mounted] as the devil of overheating struck one more at lakeside in the last sprint, It did not get much past three quarters and it was a hot hot day , on top of that we were just back in the pits long enough to have a drink and then back on the track. the worst thing for heat build up. keep you posted as to the running hot issue after I have fitted the oil cooler big improvement though it use to run hot in the first sprint and i must admit I was give it heaps in the last sprint of the day . Strange part is from lakeside to the coast on the way home it ran as 4 needles on the gauge under half.
