Great Storm of Perth Aftermath - recommend a panel beater?

Postby redwards » Thu Apr 08, 2010 1:48 am

Howdy all.

I was stuck on Loftus/Thomas Street on the way home when the hail came through. I got off pretty lightly. It looks like only the bonnet, boot and one of the front quarter panels.

I'm insured with Shannons, which means choice of repairer.

Can anyone recommend a good panel beater / painter north of the river?

Great Storm of Perth Aftermath - recommend a panel beater?

Hi Richard

sorry to hear your 5 got damaged as well. I know too many cars that were written off after the storm :(

I can strongly recommend Phil from AFM Enterprises in Osborne Park - 08 9244 5333 - just bear in mind that (like all panel beaters in Perth and Melbourne right now) he is seriously swamped with work, but is well worth waiting for as he does great work.

Thanks for the tip off Matt. I went and saw Phill who got the quote off to Shannons.

The assessor came on Monday and told me that the clubman will not be written off!

I had a look at the quote which was for only $1600. Unsurprising given only moderate damage to boot, bonnet, front left and rear left quarter panels. The quote also indicated that it's paintless dent removal for some/all of it.

Now I just need to book it in and make sure the repairs don't clash with any motorsport!

I highly recommend Phil too, he does top notch work and is a great bloke.

Even before the hail storm he was flat out because he has a great reputation, if only I could afford to get him to iron out and paint up the NA6.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

After much delays in getting my '5 in, I got it back today. God I missed driving it.

Big kudos to Phillip at AFM - lovely guy who has done a lovely job. took a few days longer than expected, but was worth the wait.
