What sort of panel damage? It is nigh impossible to remain 100% filler free, as even a small skin is usually used to finish a panel before paint. Any repair will cost more. The only alternative is to lead wipe, which is only used on classic restorations (very few people know how to do it).

In a recent post someone in the trade remarked that it is frequently a cheaper proposition for repairers to replace panels than try to panel beat and fill.
