NA sound proofing for 10 bucks

Here's a tip to get rid of resonance/rattles coming thru from the back of an NA model. While I was repairing my fuel pump (turned out to be a poor earth) I looked at the fuel tank design and thought that there would be a fair bit of resonance that could be eluminated. I ducked out to Clark Rubber and got a sheet of 2" foam and packed it around the body and tank. Definitely made an improvement. Rather than take the deck carpet etc out, anyone trying this (with double joints and skinny arms) may be able to just stuff it in through the boot.

do you mean the small hole/tunnels that go through from the boot to the cabin on either side of the fuel tank?

Yes, they extend around the front of the fuel tank also so any susupension noises etc reverberate into the cabin especially with the top up.
