Gotta admit, that red wrinkle finish on the cam cover is very nice. Very Honda Type-R'ish.

An alternative to the painted finish is the polish finish. Here are before and after photos of my cam cover.

I think a nice alloy or chrome oil cap would look nice on that.

How do you guys get rid of the paint so you can polish it instead...

SE owners would like to know...

I have heaps of used break fluid under the house...
every ounce counts

Nice one hammer, Time to do it like Okibis. Polish the intake manifold and chrome all the piping...bling it up :)

I do have a spare polished NB8A intake and heat shield somewhere ... :mrgreen:

Yeah AB7, after seeing Okibi's example, it's making me want to polish the manifold and the SVT unit on top of the cam cover.

I just got to put aside a whole weekend to do it.

putting it into the dishwasher is a case of using the wrong process. Also using an oven has also to be thought thru as some fumes will not be good for ones health esp since a domestic oven is processing food for consumption.

Oh dear, I don't think you'll be impressed when I tell you I use my Bamix to mix quantities of up to 1.5L of 2 pack......
I do wash it before I use it for food prep though...thinners is good for something
