Car's in at the paint shop

Postby Jimmy » Tue Sep 16, 2008 12:34 pm

Well my baby is in at the paint shop for the rest of the week getting the entire right hand side resprayed. Given my extremely bad luck (car wise) over the past month, i have devolped a twitch and am feeling rather nervous. I dropped her off thismorning and reluctantly handed over the keys. Although the business doing the respray is highly regarded and they've assured me that i won't be able to tell the difference when they are finished, I never wanted my car to have a "has been resprayed" status as part of her history. Aarh.

So i'll be without her until Thursday-Friday this week. Hopefully my run of unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances is over with. Over the past month, my car has had approximately $3500 worth of damage done (slashed soft top replaced with NB genuine mazda glass window roof, buckled scuff plate replaced with new genuine mazda scuff plates with custom made MX-5 stickers to match original stickers exactly, rooted drivers door lock replaced with new lock and a 4 deep drivers door scratches resulting in a right hand side respray)

You can fix metal and plastic - cars wear out get stone chips and the like and you can replace them. They are not even safe in your garage- you can drop a tin of paint, knock over a ladder etc - I reckon a good ploy is try not to stress about these things.
