BRISBANE ONLY, Window Tinting

Postby Novice1 » Mon Apr 21, 2008 6:21 pm

As the topic suggests I am after a reputable company to do window

tinting on my car, in Brisbane.

Rang up one place and they quoted me $350, way to

much in my opinion.

Cheers Ron

Where did you ring up , what tint, how many %
Did you mention it was an MX-5 cause at that price it sounds like a normal sedan

What sort of tint are you after?

35% is the darkest legal

I'm gona get my tinted but haven't yet

I spoke to David at Tint a Car Slacks Creek and they quoted me $206 for Midnight Express (T35) Darkest Legal Tint

He said the MX5 fits under there UTE category

re window tint

Postby Novice1 » Mon Apr 21, 2008 9:16 pm

Hi Antzien:

Yes, I did mention to the company I rang that it was an MX5. I, mentioned I wanted the darkest legal tint.

The company I rang was the first one I found in brisbane in the yellowpages.com.au search : window tinting brisbane.

They said there product was better than all the rest and guaranteed for life.

At $350 though I would want it to come with Hula girls.

I, will give the ones you mentioned a ring tomorrow.

Cheers Ron

You could try a pace called Class 1 Tinting, they are a mobile set up that will do it at work or home. They have done about 20 cars for me including my 5.

My little 2c, is go for what you have just been referred to, and make sure they have a lifetime warranty. Most places do these days don't they?

But yeah, $350 for 3 windows?! I don't think so.

Quality Tint and Quality Work usually = Quality Price

It's a bit hard to climb into the back seat of a 5 to do the rear window, thusly some time is spent doing a quality \"install.\"

to be extra pedantic, there's 5 windows to tint too.

Supertint (07 5575 2077) on the Gold Coast also do great work and will offer a large range of tints too.
Went for a drive and there were slow cars everywhere, why are NC's so common . . . must be NC = Normally Cardiganed.

I paid $220 for a 20% full metallic film tint with the typical lifetime warranty. They even gave me a recipe for the "illegal" tint. It took 2 guys over an hour to do it. Looks pretty good to me. No bubbles or streaks. The tint on the rear glass around the defroster lines and dotted border is perfect too, non of the white bubbles/gaps from the tint not sticking perfectly.

For $350 they better give you some free tissues to wipe your backside afterwards

All tint on glass in produced by a film whether applied during or after the manufacturing process.

Cheers Guys:

I, am waiting for Class I window tinting to ring me back.

Try Martin from Action Tint, another mobile service.

I cant remember the price now (wasn't high) but they did two cars for me on a Sunday at home - great service. He and his wife took great pride in their work and knew what they were doing. Nil probs 3 years later.
