Creaky noises over bumps from soft top

Postby blehbear » Thu Apr 17, 2008 12:09 am

Hey everyone,

When i go over bumps slowly whilst steering there are creaky noises (similar to the sound u get when u extend the top to latch up the soft top) coming from the soft top when it is up.

Ive only had my 5 for a few months and have ignored it thinking its a normal mx5 characteristic. Does anyone else experience this?

Forgot to mention ive got an NB8a.

Thanks!

Is it coming from the latch area? Maybe the latches need to be tightened up?

Failing that, get some silicon spray and do all the hinges. Should be as quite as a mouse after that.
