gear shift boot replacement

Postby mxroadster » Thu Mar 27, 2008 8:19 am

Hi all,

I have done a search but couldnt find exactly what I was looking for.
I have a leather gear shift boot but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to remove the vynil one that is currently installed.

I can fiddle around with the console but Im afraid incase i damage something in the process.

Is there are proper procedural method in doing so?

I have an 02 NB.

Thanks
Ronny

i own an NA but im pretty sure you need to carefully remove the Power Window switch to get to a screw under it (all the other screws are obvious (2 in the console storage and 1 on each side at the front..

please correct me if i am wrong people

Sounds about right Ajay.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

thanks guys, will try it tonight.

I assume the power window switch is locked down by clips so therefore I need to slowly nudge it upwards with a screwdriver?

Ronny, this one has pictorial guide

http://mazda-speed.com/forum2/index.php?topic=691.0

The hardest thing is to remove the power window switches, after that its pretty easy.
