I mentioned this in my topic on spolers, but it has developed a life of its own.
The installation instructions were in german, and my neighbour roughly translated. I pulled out the carpets, mouldings and steel plate. I can see where the strut bracket/spacer bolts in. I am assuming that the torsion rod for the left hand boot bracket needs to be removed, as the swivel bolt for the strut will foul the bracket otherwise. The photos show the bits I mean. The torsion rod would unclip from the right hand side to remove, but it is connected by the retainers on the bracket. These appear to be folded metal around the torsion rod, on a small plate rivited to the boot bracket. Before I go and start bending/removing metal, does this rod need to be removed?? does the rod mounting plate remain after strut installation?? Any help greatly appreciated.

Hope this helps. Probably not the same product as yours but may be similar.
