you are indeed a better man than I - whilst i relish the idea of having a go at anything mechanical on my car (makes them sooo much more rewarding to drive IMHO) i feared the combination of fabric, metal braces and the fact that i know nothing about it - the thought of saving several hundred $ to do the work myself was attractive, but the boss suggested that i not take a gamble like that - she knows me well enough for me to heed her advice.

Might be like a car perhaps, like comparing a Hyundai to a Mercedes? Some may be better than others and have little extras included. Hard to say really. :?

My OEM top was 11 years old when I sold it to Matt, and it's still working, so don't be too worried on price as they last for ages :)

Think of it as total cost of ownership i.e 1400 / 10 years = $140 a year for top down freedom, quite cheap really! :lol:
