Indicator driving lights...indicators flashing really fast

I never liked the look of having big front indicators and small parking lights. So i decided to get off my ass and try a mod that is avaliable here:

Took me a couple hours to do, the worst bit was trying to take the front lenses off of the lights, but once its done everything else is simple..

I have found that after doing this mod and going for a drive that the indicators are flashing very fast when on.. any idea on what could cause this or how it can be fixed... All the globes are working.

yeah i was looking there, but the lights on the us models are different to here. The parking light and indicator both work off the same globe.. I just found it easier following the NZ instruction..

got a problem, i have been out for a drive tonight and found that the indicators are flashing very fast when there on. I tested each side and none of the globes are out...anyone know what might be wrong or how i can fix it?

I'm no sparky but everytime i've had something like that was a Dodgy earth connection.

Could be incompatible voltages between the bulbs if you changed any or a bad earth as STM said.

Quite simple to fix the fast flashing problem...

Your indicator system flashes fast when there is a bulb blown
or in your case....

All it is is not enough indicators! ie you have removed large indicator from circut and replaced with little one!

I have same mod easiest solution is to go to a wreeker and get two side indicator bulbs and wiring from a late model car (falcon/commodore) as easiest to fit ie drill hole and file groves for the new bulb socket to fit into

i put the light into the big portion of the light ie when the lights aren't on the whole lot flashes I also upgraded the bulbs as well

Also of note if you don't want to go through the hassle of getting rid of the orange from the indicator just buy the US aftermarket replacement lenses from DEPO :mrgreen:

Wouldn't that mean an appropriate resistor can be soldered in line to fix the problem?
