Check that the rear most frame bow is collapsing forward as the top starts to fold down. You may have to give it a helping hand. I believe there can be a problem with the frame springs on the early NB roof.

I had the exact same problem on my NB8A. And JBT has it spot on.

If you look in your second photo, you can see that the window is still very upright. It hasn't collapsed to horizontal like it should. As you are putting the top down, grab the frame that is closest to the rear of the car and pull it towards the front of the car and the windows should collapse properly.

I just give it a little bit of a flick when closing to make sure the glass drops where it should.

I have a feeling some of the NSW guys got their early NB roof's "upgraded" under warrenty, I didn't hear about this until our car was out of warrenty :(

We had a club member who'd wondered why her softop didn't quite drop down as far as everyone elses. With a little exploration we found a black sunglasses case resting in the side of her parcel shelf. Being black and plastic it had just looked like an OEM part.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

thanks guys, i did notice the rear frame bow was retracting a bit slow..... so i spray some wd-40 on the joints and springs of the rear frame bow, and it goes down trouble free now (touch wood)...... But i'll prob check if i can get those new frame springs

Yeh when I had my NA I was digging around the parcel shelf because I noticed one side of the roof was sitting differently to the other and found the oldest fully wrapped Mars bar tucked away in there... YUK it was a bit disturbing... fortunately there wasnt a caramel explosion!
